Job Description:

The RN is primarily responsible to assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document nursing care of patients in accordance with facility policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice.

Demonstrates ability to assess/reassess nursing care needs by age group.

  • Develops age appropriate plan of care in collaboration with patient, family and health care team.
  • Implements nursing care interventions based on patient/family needs
  • Provides age appropriate teaching to patient/families and members of healthcare team.
  • Demonstrates competent nursing clinical skills and knowledge when performing care
  • Accurately documents in a timely manner all components of the nursing process.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in administration of meds/treatments; follows all regulatory standards for medication administration.
     

Educational/Skill requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing program.
  • Currently licensed to practice by the State Board of Nursing without restriction and in good standing.
  • Ability to direct subordinates in the performance of their duties.
  • Has one-year relevant current experience in their specialty assigned
  • Has current CPR certification

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to assist with lift, transport of patients.
  2. Work with potentially aggressive individuals.
  3. Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances
  4. Handle emergency or crisis situations
  5. Document per Healthcare Facility policy
